MLS Evening Program Descriptions

Rocky Mountain Predators Presentation: Students will be involved in learning about the main predators of our Rocky Mountains, and specifically those which make IdRaHaJe “home.”  This multi-sensory presentation will not only equip students with unique information about each predator’s adaptations, but will also teach students how to live with wildlife.  Group Size: 10-50

Traditional MLS Indoor Games: This activity will begin with a MLS classic: Cat in the Hat!  Think Musical Chairs meets Dr. Seuss. Get ready for a bedtime story that involves high energy, competition and lots of laughter.  After, students will continue in play with either relay races, MLS trivia or a pillowcase scavenger hunt.  This is a great option for colder trips or if you are looking for a night that does not involve hiking.  Group Size: 20-80

Team Scavenger Hunt-Outdoor Game:  Class or cabin groups will compete against each other in this outdoor team scavenger hunt to accumulate the most points possible in a designated amount of time.  At the start of the hunt, teams will be given a predetermined list of natural items and IdRaHaJe specific information they must discover before the end of the game. Each item or piece of information will have a corresponding point value. The winning team will be recognized after points are tallied.  Group Size: 20-150 students 

Explore the Night:  Instructors will guide small groups of students in open meadow areas and along camp trails while facilitating experiences such as adaptation games, storytelling, stargazing and other sensory nighttime activities. Group Size: 40 or less

Campfire Program: This classic camp experience takes place at IdRaHaJe’s outdoor chapel area which is a short hike from the facility.  The program will involve students sitting back  and enjoying storytelling, songs and skits led by MLS staff and school chaperones. Local fire bans may impact this event; the activity can be moved indoors on colder nights.  Group Size: 10-150

Swimming: For an additional fee, we can book our local pool, Marge E Hudak Pool, for a night of swimming. The pools is a 15 minute drive from IdRaHaJe (we will provide transportation) and equipped with slides, a diving board and various pool toys. The pool provides life guards, changing rooms, showers and restrooms.   Fees are set annually; please contact us for updated costs. Group Size: 30-150

Magic Show: Enjoy a night of magic from esteemed comedy magician Jason Fye. Jason is an award winning professional magician from Lakewood, Colorado who has entertained audiences 5,000. The night will be full of laughter and amazement and include a variety of prizes and games making sure that every student will get to be involved. For Christian schools, Jason will perform a night of Gospel-centered tricks to help illustrate the Bible in a new fun and compelling way. Shows can be scheduled for a half or full hour and combined with an additional program choice. An additional fee may apply for groups under 60. Group Size: 10-150

Movie Night: For those schools who would like their students to have a night to just relax and take a deep breath from a busy day at MLS, a movie might be the perfect option.  We have a variety of “G” rated films for schools to choose from or pre-approved documentaries. If the school wants to show a PG film to student, this must be approved by school administration or parents prior to the trip. Group Size: 10-150

Professional Storyteller & Singer:  Elsa Wolff, also known as the Guitar Lady, will provide an interactive night of fun for all through her engaging songs and stories.  Elsa has extensive experience performing for both adults and children. For groups under 40 students, an additional fee of will be charged.  For larger groups, this activity will be broken into two, 45 minute sessions and paired with indoor games. Group Size: 20-150 

Open Gym with Climbing at the Rock Barn: The Gymnasium and Education Center offers a large facility for indoor recreation activities. There is a large mezzanine area with various rec room games such as Ping-Pong tables, foosball, and more. There is also a large gym with ball sports available such as basketball and volleyball.  Along with these activities, our indoor rock-climbing gym (Rock Barn) gives students the chance to try any of our amazing climbing routes. For groups staying at Aspen View or Mountain Village, the hike to the Gym is a half mile up hill.  Group Size: 20-150

Open Gym with Facilitated Activity: The Gymnasium and Education Center offers a large facility for indoor recreation activities. There is a large mezzanine area with various rec room games such as Ping-Pong tables, foosball, and more.  Along with these activities, our staff can facilitate an activity for your group utilizing the gym’s resources. The activity can be selected from one or more of the following: 9-square, volleyball, dodgeball, basketball, or pickle ball. For groups staying at Aspen View or Mountain Village, the hike to the Gym is a half mile up hill. Group Size: 20-150
